Special issue on Source-Goal (a)symmetries across languages: edited by Marine Vuillermet and Anetta Kopecka

This special issue on Source-Goal (a)symmetries https://benjamins.com/catalog/sl.45.1 confirms a general tendency toward a Goal biased asymmetry across nine typologically and genealogically diverse languages. On the basis of data compiled with the visual stimuli set Trajectoire https://www.jbe-platform.com/docserver/fulltext/sl.00018.kop.pdf?expires=1701446624&id=id&accname=hauptbzuerichche%2F1&checksum=93E2DB72760A279A81C80A373D70E010, the seven papers show that the (a)symmetry at one level of the system can entail or not the (a)symmetry at another level, and that the degree of the Source-Goal (a)symmetry can vry between and within individual languages depending on the domain and/or the event type investigated.
