Presentation by Morgane Jourdain at BUCLD on the simplification of verb morphology in contingent child-directed speech

On November 5th, Morgane Jourdain presented her research with Sabine Stoll on the syntagmatic and paradigmatic simplification of verb morphology in contingent child-directed speech at the 47th Boston University Conference on Language Development.

This study shows that in Chintang, adults produce shorter and less diverse verb forms when answering children's vocalization than when initiating an interaction.
