New paper of the ENL group about neuroanatomical correlates of supra-threshold auditory tasks in older individuals with hearing impairment

The ENL group around Martin Meyer published a paper titled «Different neuroanatomical correlates for temporal and spectral supra-threshold auditory tasks and speech in noise recognition in older adults with hearing impairment» in the European Journal of Neuroscience. The results show that different auditory abilities are differently associated with cortical morphology in older adults with hearing impairment. The results support the hypothesis that mostly cortical thickness (and not cortical surface area) undergoes alterations when hearing impairment becomes worse.
