Invited talk by Carmen Saldana at the Special Interest Group on Computational Morphology and Phonology within ACL 2023

Carmen Saldana presented the results of experimental studies which tested shared typological and learning biases towards compositional transparency and locality in morpheme order, and towards partitions of morphological paradigms that reflect semantic relatedness at the Special Interest Group on Computational Morphology and Phonology, Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics 2023. In light of these results, Carmen argued that cross-linguistic recurrent morphological patterns mirror to some extend universal features of human cognition.
