New paper by Sebastian Sauppe on German sentence production

Department member Sebastian Sauppe published a new study in Frontiers in Psychology entitled Word Order and Voice Influence the Timing of Verb Planning in German Sentence Production.

In this eye tracking study, Sauppe demonstrates that German speakers plan the main verbs of their sentences earlier when the verb directly follows the subject as compared to when it is placed at the end of the sentence (for example as in Der Junge tritt den Ball vs. Der Junge hat den Ball getreten).
